The Course will teach you as a primary dentist to identify and implement management strategies of primary oral sequela and secondary mucosal disorders of cancer therapy, which result in improved treatment, compliance, patient comfort and quality of life for cancer patients.
- Know general information about cancer and cancer patients in Puerto Rico.
- Identify and implement management strategies of primary oral sequela and secondary mucosal disorders of cancer therapy.
- Facilitate speech, swallowing, functional rehabilitation and nutritional counseling in cancer patients by opportunistic referral.
- Evaluate and treat oral infectious complications in cancer patients and management the pain and symptoms.

Doctor in Dental Medicine, specialization in Prosthodontics and Master’s Degree in Dental Sciences of the School of Dental Medicine, UPR. Certificate in Dental Oncology for MD Anderson Cancer Center-UT and Certificate in Tobacco Treatment Specialist from the Nicotine Dependence Center of the Mayo Clinic of UM. Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Graduate School of Public Health, Medical Sciences Campus, UPR. Researcher, Faculty and Director of Community Education and Dental Oncology Services at Comprehensive Cancer Center-UPR.
